Hotel Posada del Hidalgo is a beautiful
colonial mansion. This attractive structure
was built in 1890 by Señor Rafael Almada, a
wealthy and influential "alcalde" (mayor)
who spent five years and 100,000 gold pesos
on its construction. The wooden trim was
made from 285 Canadian red pine beams. |

1648 and the mission church was built in
1650. The present structure — next to the
1650 ruins — was built in 1811. |
Bass & Lobster Fishing: 2 lakes are 30
minutes away from the property. |
Copper Canyon: 200 miles northeast to
the property. Copper Canyon system in the
middle of legendary Sierra Madre mountain
range. Many visitors prefer to spend the
night here and then begin their Copper
Canyon train journey in the morning after a
